The strong emphasis on “Jesus Christ” in the title name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints put credence to the truthfulness of the Gospel the Church propagates. Making this assertion is the General Manager of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Abeokuta, Pastor Dele Oke during a media tour by the Church’s National Public Affairs Council (NPAC) and two Church Public Department staffs, Elder Adesina Olukanni and David Watson.

Mr. Oke who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God express appreciation to the Church for focusing on family unity saying any society that looses it at the family level has lost it all. The GM assured the Church of media partnership on any issue that will uplift the society adding that the Church came to them in the name of Christ.
Discussions during the tour emphasize the objectives of the Church through the Public Affairs to include building lasting relationships with communities, strengthening the families, execution of self reliance projects and inspiring people to do good.
Also speaking, Africa West Area Director of Public Affairs, Elder Adesina Olukanni explained the Employment Resource Services of the Church which provide training in areas of career development, self reliance and other developmental programs for job seekers and those who may want to improve on their current productivity level at no cost to the participants. He stated that this program is available to members and non-members alike and has served thousands of Nigerians since inception nearly fifteen years ago.
The media tour delegation had earlier visited Paramount FM, an arm of Radio Nigeria located at Kobape area of Abeokuta the Ogun State Capital where they were received by the General Manager, Prince Adewale Adeboboye and his management team.
At a similar visit to Ogun State Television (OGTV), the General Manager, Alhaji Ayinde Soaga assured the delegation that OGTV is very willing to collaborate with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to improve the society.
During a similar visit to Lagos Television (LTV 8), the team was welcomed by the management of LTV led by Mrs. Deola Salako, the Corporate Affairs Manager. Other Directors of LTV 8 present were; Mrs. Funke Moore, Director of Current Affairs; Reverend Morakinyo Akinriande, Director of Administration; Pastor Lawrence Ojo, Director of Finance and Engineer ‘Lakin Aina Badejo, Director of Engineering.
At the visit to LTV 8, discussions centered on the sanctity of family that will lead to morally strong, healthy and united communities and consequently a Lagos would have changed for good.
Mrs. Salako thereafter, thanked the NPAC team for the visit and promised that “because we have same core value, we will work together.” Other members on the team include Brother Wole Oyedeji who is the National Director Public Affairs Directorate for Nigeria, Brothers Tunde Aderibigbe and Biodun Bakare who are both Public Affairs Missionaries and Brother Chimezie Chinedum Public Affairs Specialist. Others are President Ebenezer Ogundele, a Church leader in-charge of Public Affairs in Abeokuta and members of the Public Affairs Council, Abeokuta District which included Debo Akinwunmi and Bayo Olayemi.
High point of the visit was presentation of some basic information kits about the Church to the management of LTV 8 which was also reciprocated by Mrs.Deola Salako to members of the team.
